We are a stones throw from the beautiful Teign Gorge and the endless walking opportunities on Dartmoor. Our kids love to go climbing on the fabulous granite tors and we can point you in the direction of our favourite local walks.

Stop over for a night whilst walking the Two Moors Way.
Easy access to plenty of beaches less than an hours drive away.

HISTORY
Explore the medieval village of Chagford and see if you can spot the medieval Three Hares symbol in the church which has captivated the imagination of historians and artists. Join the Three Hares Trail and visit all the churches in Devon where the symbol can be found.
Visit Castle Drogo, the last castle to be built in England and have a cream tea in the cafe.
Finch Foundry offers an opportunity to see how a working forge was run. It is also a perfect spot to have a picnic along the river and go for a stroll.
Visit the Bronze Age settlement of Grimspound or Scorhill stone circle on Dartmoor.
Spend a day in Okehampton visiting the Castle and the Museum of Dartmoor Life as well as doing a spot of shopping. Okehampton is also a great place to explore Dartmoor from with many walks just a short drive from the town centre.
EAT
If campfire cooking is not enough then head off into the surrounding area to explore our culinary delights. Great pubs, lovely cafes and Devonian tea rooms

Drewe Arms (re opening march 2024) - Our local and the friendliest pub around, with great food in Drewsteington square.
Fingle Bridge Inn - best location in Devon, perch right on the edge of the River Teign and have chips and a pint of ale
Three Crowns, Chagford Inn and The Globe Inn are all great pubs in Chagford.
Sandy Park Inn - has a lovely garden and cosy fireside
Castle Drogo National Trust cafe - we love to go there with our kids after a big walk around the Teign Gorge for lunch and a cream tea.
The Horse in Moretonhampstead has excellent food.
The Mill End Hotel has an exceptionally good cream tea.
CITY LIFE
Although nestled beneath the moor Three Hares Campsite is just 20 minutes drive from the ancient cathedral city of Exeter. Exeter is full of things to explore and a great city to head to on a rainy Dartmoor day.

Clip and Climb - Climbing walls for kids aged 4+ and adults of all abilities

Phoenix Cinema- an independent cinema with really comfy seats and a great selection of films. Exeter also has a Vue and Odeon.
Cafes and restaurants galore as well as lovely independent shops and all the usual high street fun of the fayre.
